FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

What an amazing Primary Musical - Dragon Days! It was a testament to your children’s talents and the Primary staff teamwork, ably and willingly supported by other staff with logistics, food and supervision. Your children really enjoyed themselves, fulfilling English, Music and Drama elements of the Australian Curriculum. They were spectacular in their costumes, that you provided for F-Y4, against stunning scenery, supported by professional sound and lighting so all could see and hear. It also was made possible by 20 willing volunteers of you supporting in a variety of ways in the week before and on the day, for which we again thank you so much!

The Primary Musical gives a special opportunity for friendships to be made across year levels with the older Y5/6 students on stage leading the younger children in dances. A particularly cute one was with the Foundation class as snowflakes. Also friendships across Primary and Secondary bind our school community closer together. The Primary Musical is a powerful real-life project for our Secondary Students in the completion of Australian Curriculum requirements. Your Secondary students taking Drama fulfilled support roles back-stage with hair and make-up and then as stagehands to move scenery and props. Your Integrated Learning Secondary students made the costumes, props and provided marketing material, working closely with the Director and the Musical committee, supporting Primary students in a common goal, made possible by being a F-Y12 one campus College. You will be able to read more of this in a special Newsletter dedicated to the Primary Musical – Dragon Days, coming soon.

Finally, a massive thank you for your support to our students and the feedback we have already received of how much you enjoyed it. We ask if you have not filled in the quick survey sent out last week then please do to help our review of how to refine it for our students in the future. Thank you.

Justin Robinson

Community Feedback

"I just wanted to pass on to the school how much we enjoyed visiting the Junior Primary classrooms on Friday with the playgroup. It was so nice to have the opportunity to see all the classrooms in person, the teachers have gone to such effort to make the aesthetics of the rooms very pleasing, they are all such lovely and fun environments for the kids to play and learn in!   It was also good to be able to have a chance to chat with the teachers in an informal setting. We felt very welcomed and appreciated that they took time out of their day to have the preschoolers in their rooms for the whole morning, so please let them know how much we enjoyed visiting!"

Father's Day Stall

We’d like to say a BIG “thank you” for all the gifts so generously donated towards our stall - our students had great fun ‘shopping’ for their Dads and we hope Father’s Day is thoroughly enjoyed by all! Together we raised almost $900 for our school.
